The 2023 Mercedes-Benz of Greater Richmond Junior Championships

A record 200+ junior tennis players competed in our 2023 Mercedes-Benz Greater Richmond Junior Championships on May 20-21. The tournament included boys and girls singles and doubles for the age divisions of U12, U14, U16, and U18. The main location for the weekend was at the historic Byrd Park Tennis Courts in Richmond, with early-round satellite locations of Battery Park, University of Richmond, and Ridgetop Recreation Association.

The kids enjoyed the competitive play, guessing how many balls were in the back of the Mercedes-Benz for prizes, playing cornhole, and enjoying the wonderful weather! This Richmond “City” tournament organized by Richmond Tennis Association dates back to the 1940s and is part of Richmond’s deep tennis history.
